Our story

Tyler's Piano Service   Piano Tuning,  Service,  and Repair

Starting sometime back in 2002-2003, a job landed in my lap. A teacher at church asked if I would like to help him out with his work one day. Knowing only that he worked "with pianos" and very little else, I agreed. I was 17, home schooled, and had a LOT of free time on my hands.

I spent the day with him traveling to different residences preparing invoices and cleaning pianos while I watched him take apart, repair, tune, and care for each and every one of them. At the end of the day, I was thanked, paid, and asked if I would like to help again if the need arose. I agreed, and that started the first leg of my journey into the piano world.

As time went on, I worked in his restoration shop and really got to know the inner workings of many different types of pianos. From full refinishing and restringing to full action rebuilding and regulating, flood damage, fire damage, mold, corrosion: I've pretty much seen it all.

During this time I was also taught and trained how to actually tune a piano: proper technique, attention to detail, and how to really listen for that "sweet spot" to make it sound great. I am extremely appreciative of this man and everything that I have learned from him and his family.

I have since had a family of my own. I am the father of 4 awesome daughters, and get to be a husband to an amazing wife, who somehow puts up with me every day, and for whom I am extremely grateful.

After all of this time, it is finally time for us to start down this portion of this journey called life..... and we would like you to be a part of it.
